Mission Statement

It is our mission to preserve our heritage, traditions and ceremonies so that they are passed on to future generations; to instill cultural pride among our children, and to educate them on our heritage as well as in the academics of today's society. We want to protect our ancient burial grounds and honor our ancestors through ceremony and prayer. We strive to create an economy through earth-friendly means such as through agriculture, free range livestock, or in other environmentally safe ways. This economic base will provide employment for our people and will provide needed funding for affordable healthcare, housing, fuel assistance, nutritional education, substance abuse information and referrals, and college opportunities. Funding will also provide us the means to promote cultural programs and outreach classes to educate our non-Native American neighbors, to dispel myth from reality, and to provide an understanding on the historical Nipmuc people.

It is our goal to work with federal, state, and local agencies, and with the people of Massachusetts, to protect our rivers, lakes, forests, wildlife, and natural treasures. Massachusetts has been part of our homelands for thousands of years; we intend to do all we can to keep it a beautiful place for all of us to live in and enjoy.
